During the holidays, thoughts turn towards welcoming guests into our homes. But it’s also a good time to think about keeping out those uninvited guests.
This is the time of year when rodents and insects are looking for warm places to hole up for the winter – and many of these pests can fit through openings the size of a quarter. Secure your home by giving your exterior a thorough check to block off any points of entry – and don't forget the roof and holes around pipes and cables that run into your house. Seal any holes with caulk or wood putty to eliminate a way in.
Also check the bottoms of doors to see if there’s space for critters to creep in. If you see a gap, add a Frost King door sweep to the door bottom. An added benefit? These fixes will also cut down on air leaks that can drive up your heating bills. Our video shows you how to shut the front door on air leaks and seal up your entryway.
