With the change in season comes a new to-do list. Get your home ready for changing weather with these three outdoor DIY projects to cross off your list in September.
Garden Time. Summer’s blooms are starting to fade, and in the next few weeks leaves will start to fall and pile up all over your property. Get a jump-start on yard clean up by pruning shrubs and perennials (especially those in beds that are up against the foundation). Replace annuals with autumnal mums and asters for a few more months of color.
Power Hour. Fall is a good time to shower your home’s exterior with some love. Power wash siding to wash away pollen, dirt, and grime that may have built up over the summer.
Cover Up. Your central air conditioner unit worked hard all summer long – now it’s time to prepare it for a long winter’s rest. Flip the unit’s air conditioning circuit to the “off” position, and hose the exterior off to wash away any grime or dirt. Winterize the unit by covering exposed pipes with Frost King’s Tubular Foam and Rubber Pipe Insulation to prevent freezing and the unit itself with Frost King’s Central Air Conditioner Cover, which can protect your unit from harsh winter weather. Made of heavy gauge, winterized plastic, the cover slips right over the unit; elastic straps attached to the cover ensure a secure fit.
